EM&I Win A Northern Star!

EM&I at The Northern Star Awards 2007

EM&I can proudly add another award to its name, the Northern Star Aberdeen Business School Placement Provider Award 2007. The award was presented at the Northern Star Business Awards Dinner on the 27^th September 2007, organised by the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the Aberdeen Business School.

  

The new Aberdeen Business School award aimed to recognise the important contributions made by local businesses to Aberdeen Business School students through their participation in student placement programmes.

Students were asked to nominate their placement hosts, giving details of how they had allowed and encourage them to develop a range of transferable skills and abilities, understand the organisation and its sector, apply theories, models and concepts learned at University to a practical setting, recognise their own strengths and weaknesses as a potential manager, and develop maturity and confidence.

 

By achieving this award, EM&I firmly receive a nod of recognition for our continuing commitment to educating and supporting our staff members by offering valuable experience to our diverse workforce. This high profile and very successful event helped to raise awareness of our company and highlighted the quality of our people within. Mowatt Research and TOTAL E&P UK were also nominated for this award. As our CEO, Charles Cruickshank states: “We were up against some serious competition across all business sectors within the North East, and I am absolutely delighted that through Amie and Julie's efforts we came out top of the pile.”
