EM&I's Inspection and Survey services enable accurate surveys with minimal disruption to production

EM&I's Marine Access Survey and Safety (MASS) service uses a combination of IRATA approved rope access methods and CCTV helmet mounted cameras and advanced NDT equipment. We offer a complete range of non destructive testing services including UT, eddy current, MPI / LPI, and thermography.

This enables inspection of normally inaccessible areas, and provides a permanent record for monitoring and compliance purposes.

The methods developed include:

  • Non – intrusive, rapid scanning of process piping and vessels

  • Internal inspection of piping and vessels

  • Subsea inspection systems for underwater structures

  • Managing CUI

MASS

A flexible package using specialised access methods combined with NDT and remote CCTV systems for inspection, survey and condition monitoring. EM&I multi- skilled trained site teams can access all parts of a ship, FPSO, offshore or onshore structure quickly and safely, taking up minimum bed space. Cyclops

CYCLOPS

A helmet mounted CCTV system which is used in conjunction with survey and inspection systems.

CYCLOPS enables the EM&I technician, Owner and Class representatives to participate in the

survey without staging or rafting.

GLOVE

Glove GLOVE is a rapid scan method of checking piping and vessel integrity without internal access.

Data from GLOVE can be input while on site, into ANALYSE, a software package which assesses

the type of corrosion present, the mechanism and predict the probable time to failure.

COBRA

COBRA is a miniature gas safe CCTV system which has been designed for the thorough examination of bottom plating underneath bellmouths, pipe and vessel internals etc. The cost and production benefits of not having to remove bellmouths or fully open pressure vessels are significant.

SNOOPY

SnoopySNOOPY is a low cost, lightweight method for in-water and subsea surveys of ships, offshore platforms

MODU's and FPSO's. SNOOPY measures bottom plating, thickness coating condition and CP readings

without the need to clean or enter the tanks. SNOOPY also minimises the risk of collision with dive support vessels and their associated costs. Tanks can remain in service throughout the survey, maximising

production uptime and avoiding the risk of pollution.

MOLE

MOLE works by using specially designed sub-miniature probes that detect moisture, temperature, coating

condition and wall thickness, and can remove the need for costly, and often unnecessary lagging removal.

MOLE offers a rapid, low intrusive, low cost inspection so that even components that do not show cladding damage or presence of corrosion product can be easily inspected. Combined with thermographic imaging, MOLE can help to detect and address the problems of corrosion under insulation in good time to avoid unplanned shutdowns.
